The shot of a Little Egret, Egretta garzetta, was taken late last Nov at a nature reserve here in Hong Kong. Use of Backlighting and applied fill-in flash to bring out feather details ...

EOS-10D, EF400/5.6L with BB @ -1 1/3
Incident @ -1/3, ISO 200

Sharp as a tack and caught at a perfect time with the wings down and legs back...VERY nice!

Excellent balance between ambient and fill. The wing position is great as is the open bill. :D

Beautiful! Great position of the bird with wings down and the backlighting making the wings transluscent. Very nice.

The pose , the exposure both were perfect, and if this a full fram, then this is a really kick axx photo.
