I'm not sure what these King Penguins were doing. They seemed to want to cross the stream, or maybe swim downstream on their way to sea, but didn't. In their mass approach to the water, they reminded me of pilgrims coming to a baptism, or just folks clustering at the shore, and I liked the habitat. St. Andrews Bay, South Georgia Island, EOS-3, 90mm T/S, 1.4x, 1/80, f22 (ambient -1/3), Provia at 100 and unpushed.

Cliff,

Very neat scenic image of a small portion of this colony. It's remarkable how much the snow has receded in your image.

How very cool -- everytime I see these guys I think of that horrific scene in WingedMigration :-( But as they say that is nature and we are all part of the same cycle.

Wonderful image, Cliff. I love how me eye is led through the frame by the masses of penguins. Great depth too.

Fantastic scene! A remarkable shot, extremely well composed. It works especially well for me because even the birds in the distance appear distinct because of their coloring.

Cliff,

Wonderful shot. I like how the penquins and the river lead us through the image.

I find the zig-zag formation to be very interesting here. This really does look like people gathering on shore. I love it!
