D30 75-300 IS, technicals unrecorded
Handheld, full frame This photo of two Magellanic Penguins was taken a couple of years ago on a typical overcast day near Punta Arenas, Chile. These Penguins will spend most of the day fishing and then return to their nests, but they do not all seem to have the same schedule. While there I saw groups of three to four penguins in single file heading for the sea at the same time that other groupings were returning. Often the groups would walk right past each other as in this image. These penguins were the last in their groups. Maybe they knew each other? Neil Solomon
