Canon 1D MarK II 600IS L Lens + 2XTC + 67mm of Extension Tubes 1/1000 f8 ISO 800

The hummingbird tongue is especially designed to lick the nectar of the flowers, as you can see it is very long, it is controlled by muscles placed back in the skull called the hyoid apparatus, the Ruby throated can lick back and forth at frequencies of 4 to 14 per second. The hummer doesn't suck the nectar like a straw, rather by capillaries the fluid is brought inside, that is the reason not to make the feeding nectar too thick, that will clog the capillaries and might harm the bird.

Thanks for looking, all comments are appreciated.

Slurrpppp! :D

Very cool image.

Are those the Kenko tubes? I have been thinking of getting a set of tubes for my long lenses, and the Canon tubes seem a bit pricey. I mean, air is air...

Juan,

Very cool shot. Sharp with alot of great detail. I like it even better with a little cropped off of the top.

Killer Juan, love the action captured here. Cropping off the top has strenghtened this one immensely.
