In Hummingbird Photography one of the most difficult tasks is to choose the appropriate background. First has to look natural and should enhance or compliment the bird. Nothing with sharp edges and if we photograph a male with gorget, that iridescent color should became the focal point where with a color wheel we should look for complementary hues.

Sometimes we have success, sometimes not. Here is an example that believe things work.

Thanks for looking, all brutal comments are appreciated.

Juan, I love the way you have the wings sharp AND blurred to get the sense of motion. Perfect head position. A real festival of color. Bravo.

Thanks,

Very good capture and very good colours, I liked the colourful frame.
I think that the picture is too bright especially the pink flower, it is catching the eye.

Sweet Juan! I actually think the background is a bit much but that's just me. :)

Juan,

Beautiful shot. The background colors complement the bird and the flower very well.

Nice hummer shot, but the backround competes with the subject in my eye.

Very cool Juan--sometimes the ghosting effect works well like in this photo!

A wonderful shot, Juan. I wish the BG was a little more subdued. A little too psychedelic IMO. I think it overpowers the hummer.
