This guy reminds me of a cartoon bird that the children's author Dr. Suess might have created. I can tell you this, he was loud.

Southern Screamer Chauna torquata it is - thanks for the ID.

This bird was in with the flamingos at the San Diego Zoo.

Canon D30, Canon 600mm f/4, ISO200

Looks to me to be a Southern Screamer (Chauna torquata). Aptly named! I love this shot. :)
