I think I got the focus a little better here.

10D, 500 f/4.5 at 7.1; 1/250, beanbag.

Great shot again of these beautiful birds. I took this into PS and if you apply 1 shot of 100/.3/0 USM, and then another 100/.2/0 selectively on the head it sharpens up beautifully.

I've had trouble getting the males while I have several decent female shots. Very nice!

Nice shot you got, Bill and Chris' repost did the trick with the sharpening. Good exposure, background, and comp. What's not to like about a beautiful red bird.
