Nice one Steve. A few things could improve it though. There appears to bit a of noise, which you could likely clean with a noise program. Aso, the bird itself would benefit from a boost in contrast. Great shot otherwise.

Chris said what I was thinking on the contrast. The comp is great with the wings pointing at the corners.

Love the diagonal and the mesmerizing eye on this bird. Adjusting the contrast and smoothing out the noise might really strengthen the photo. Nice catch!

Nice image with the head turn, appears to be a juvenile red tail. Technical nits discussed above, good catch.

There's great detail hiding in there somewhere... I wonder if rescanning ti would help bring it furtehr? It's a great shot, and I bet the slide is fantastic.
