Perseverance. A quality I had to learn after coming to admire this beautiful little specie, of which there has been so many sublime posts here, the most recent by Mike Wilson. As everyone knows, they favor power lines and poles, and I've chased them over the countryside as they hop from one to the other. Once again the automobile proved its value as an effective blind for this first-for-me natural perch. I pulled up at a distance that would afford a shallow angle, so necessarily this is a 50% crop. Lower twigs removed from LL corner.

John:

an exquisite capture of the bird-sharp and nicely lit. Unless you have a specific reason, there is way too much empty space (blue sky) in the image. If it were mine, I would remove some sky.

John, I agree with Jeff, too much negative space on top. The bird looks great.

I agree with the others. Does another 50% crop hold up?

Would go for a tighter crop if the original can stand it, John!

Only nit is the negative space in the upper part of the frame. Very nice otherwise.

She's a beauty John. The sidelight really adds dimension to her shape. I agree with the comments on the bottom heavy crop.

Definitely an unusual perch for a kestral! Still a little too much room at the top for my taste but a very nice image nonetheless John!!! :D
