Dennis,

Welcome to NSN. Looks like you have some nick work to share with us.

Please take a minute to read the posting guidelines at the top of the page. You are allowed only one bird image post per 48 hours, and it needs to be no longer than 650 pixels on the longest side. This one is almost 800. Thanks.

Sorry about that, I will check out the guidelines and adhere to the rules on here. Thanks for pointing this out to me. Sorry for not reading first, in most cases I do.

No problem Dennis. I'd like to remove the other two posts, if that's OK with you?

Dennis:

Welcome to NSN, good choice of subject for a first post, there are several nits here IMHO: The bird already passed your angle, it would looked better earlier when he is approaching you. Too contrasty with not much details on the whites nor on the blacks. Sorry about these brutal critiques, I hope you take them constructively.

Dennis, welcome to NSN. You'll pick up tons of good tips here, many have commented on how their work has improved over time as a result of critiques. I would encourage you to read others' posts, and absorb what they get "gigged" on, as well as your own.

Thanks for the comment on this image, and I agree with the contrast too high and not much details in this image. I will re-work this one and see what kind of out come I can get.

Not a problem about the brutal critque, I can handle that well. And thanks for the welcome.

A good first post and a warm welcome to NSN, Dennis!
A bit contrasty and over exposed ...

I like the water drops and sharp detail from bill to tail. It is on the contrasty side and I wish it was looking more this way. Welcome to Birds. :D

Thanks for the comments on this image and yes I would have to agree about the contrast on this image and I think that I will re-work this image.

Also thanks for the welcome as well.

Hello Mike and thanks for the welcome to this site.

Yes I like the water drops as well, and just wished that he did look towards the camera, but some times we need to take what we got and enjoy the image just the same. I will post some other images a bit later on.

Thanks for the comments.
