Eastern Kingbird
Theodore Roosevelt National Park, south unit
Canon 10D and 500mm from car, Kinesis bean bag

This bird makes things a bit easier for the photographer. While flying off to catch insects, it frequently returns to the same perch where it left from.

Excellent composition and color, Jeff!
What I don't understand is the overall softness it appears. I'd expect sharp image from a straight 500 ... :?:

Jeff,
Looks real good on my monitor. I find this species to be rather skittish and wary; you've done well here.

Sweet shot Jeff. I also add a touch more contrast with the usm it needs. Love the BG.

Very nice shot with a good pose perch and background but soft throughout.

A bit more contrast and maybe a bit more USM but overall a very nice image.

Very nice. Agree that USM and a little bump up in contrast will really help this one.

Jeff,

Nice shot. The pose, perch and background are excellent. Alan's suggestions will make the image even better.

Jeff
This is a very nice shot of a bird that is hard to get on a nice perch. The perche and BG are great. I agree with the others about a little more contrast and USM.
