Gitzo, sidekick, full frame

For the last week I've been following three juvenile RS Hawks. They currently hang out in the trees in the back of my office parking lot, next to a vacant lot (meaning almost unlimited rabbits and mice). One of the adults was around for a while but I haven't seen him in a week or two. As for the juveniles, you can hear them all the time. They're quite vocal. However, they tend to stay either high up or deep within the trees or both. Needless to say, clear shots are difficult at best. However, if you wait long enough a couple of opportunities usually come your way. Anyway, here is the first of three shots I'll post this week.

Very nice head turn, a splendid image.

I find it hard to see your exposure of 1/60 @ f8 in direct sunlight producing the above shot; it would be at least 3 stops over IMO. It's more likely 1/600 with your +1EV

Another one of your splendid works, Neil. You've surely got some good ones lately. This is a textbook hawk image, hope you've got a frontal with the bird looking off into the distance.

This is excellent, Neil!
I too think there was typo with your shooting data ... at 1/60s?!

I think it was wondering what that white critter with the big eye is. Great over the shoulder look. :D

Very nice though perhaps a tad tight. I would have moved the bird a little more to the right, but nice as is. The look is priceless and makes the whole shot!
