Thanks, Alan. Normally I'd shoot a bit more to the right but in this case I chose to ignore the rules because of the shape and angle of the bird which is played up more this way.

I agree with both comments. The light leaves a bit to be desired and I dislike the color of the water but the pose is nice.

Nice full body image with a pleasing bg. I too would put the bird a bit more to the right in the frame but would also wish that the bird looked up a bit more than it is. Not a nit, just a suggestion for what to keep your eyes on.

Dick, Nice exposure and a wonderful bird, compositionally not bad but way below your capabilities, I have seen many of your images as this does not measure up, Not a bad image mind you, just not an inspired one from you!!, Now, just go get me a nice reddish prancing around in wonderful light and doing the crazy Sandy walk!! :wink:
