Gitzo, sidekick, BB and Flash@0, 75% of full frame

Since I still haven't been able to obtain a shot of this bird with her eyes open lately, I thought I would post this shot from earlier in the year. In this case she was nestled deep within a nearby (to the current nest) palm tree and much closer to the ground. The trick was getting the flash to illuminate her. This took trying several different positions hand holding the flash (thanks Jim Urbach). A little bit of PS work was required to remove some hot spot in the background.
