Cattle Egret (from this part of the world)

Cattle Egret Bubulcus ibis

EOS 10D, EF100-400mm L IS USM, EF2x II, f/11, ISO400, handheld, crop to verticle, C1LE, PS7 B/C/S adjusted, FocalBlade.

Po Toi Island, April-09-2004.

Appearently, the cattle egrets are not as colourful as those posted there. :( Just for comparison purpose. Thank for viewing.

Griffin, we have a couple of these Egrets at the Wings of Asia exhibit here at Miami Metro Zoo, pretty colorful with that rusty head and neck! Congrats!! 8)

Agree with all above but want to add the great lens technique. Getting an image that sharp with the lens combination (and hand held!!!) is not easy. You did everything correct. Congratulations

Thank you for all the kind words. The original intention of this post is "Hey, we have cattle egrets here too but it is not as great look as yours" :wink:

With luck, IS and high shutter speed (1/800s), it is not that hard to use a 400 f/5.6 lens with a 2x TC. Still, it is not as sharp as I had imagined (spoiled by that 300 f/2.8).
