Alfred, Wonderful image of a bird that is hard to properly expose, nice colors and slightly soft, but not too bad, Congrats!!! 8)
Nice meeting you today at Anhinga, a treat to put a face to your name!!, Wonderful weather plus you also got to meet Lana Hayes and Jillybird, my trusted companion and better aiming Lighthouse!!
I spent the day pushing the D70 and flash in manual as recommended by Chas, the results are great if you ask me!!, I can see it's usefulness in the field!!, Still, i-TTL is a rather nice option as well when a more controlled /predictable output is required without calculations or compensation.

Great Shot! I like the branch he is carrying, and it looks almost like water drops falling from his feet. Did you use flash?

Nice capture Alfred. I've yet to see one with nesting material so this must have been a treat. How was the trail today? I went last friday and found only fog....

Alfred, this is just awesome. Love the detail in the blacks, the sheen and wing position. Great shot.

One more awesome. Gotta love the pose and the background. Might try just a tiny bit more USM.

:D :D :D This is a tremendous flight shot. The BG really helps the bird stand out.

Wonderful flight shot with nice exposure on the bird. The background really makes the bird pop. I love the leafy green nesting material that it is carrying. :)

Nice shot. As nondescript as the BG is, I knew this was the Rookery :)

Simply stunning in the black detail. I shot a similar from Venice in March last year but not near the black detail as here.

Way to go, these guys are really fast when approaching the island.

This is a grand image. The light and colors are wonderful.....and the nesting material (not covering the eye) makes it a real winner. Great job!
