As for the tail -- nah, I intentionally shot this with a tighter crop. I wanted to emphasize the head positions of the eagles on the log and didn't think a full shot would have done that.

Dick, this is very nice. The crop you chose works really well. You even got decent DOF depite the two being in different planes too. Well done.

I don't mind the tail not being there but it would work better compositionally if you cropped a bit off of the right side in my opinion. Otherwise a very nice photo.
