We were lucky to have this corporative fellow swim quite close to us one afternoon.

So this is what he looked like through the bigger glass. Nice portrait Jimmy. Too bad the weather was not better. Thanks for sharing.

I like this a lot! The low contrast works well IMO. Nice composition too.

Nice portrait. These guys can be pretty shy up here since they are still legally hunted by some of the native groups.

That is unquestionably a sea otter. River otters are found in the coastal waters of south central AK, but they do not swim on their backs like this.

Cool. The overcast lighting helps this one I think.

Talk about a laid back relaxed animal. Everything works for me and really like the hand position Cool.

I've watched a few of these guys, and I can say you've really caught the personality in this shot, from the laid back (literally) demeanor to the salty dog look in their faces with those big moustaches. The clear looking blue-green water is a real bonus.

I was going to say that I was told these guys are sea otters but Tim has already gotten to that. This one got a lot closer to you than the various ones got to me while I was there. And, unless they all "look alike", this one looks a lot like the one I got images of. :)

A fine backstroke portrait with a well positioned nose. :D
