Well, I finally got my slides back from the trip out to Barnegat Light last month 1/10/04. Does anyone remember that??? I shoot film and can't get that instant satisfaction. However, the wait was worth it. Heather and I were shooting these guys in a great location with the frigid ocean in the background. I can't wait to get back there. I'll try to post a few more real soon, now that I've got a cable modem at home.

Cheers,

Anyone in NJ or nearby going out shooting, let me know!

James

P.S. Heather I asked you for exposure readings when we were out there. I was approx 1 stop open from your settings and I know both our shots were right on. Is this an effect of digital vs film? Would one need to open up less on light or dark subjects when using digital??? Please advise.

James, a lovely photo with him drinking. I might take a bit off the right. Whites looks a tad over.

Very nice photo, well framed and nice change in behavior than many posts. I agree with Alan on the whites.

James, very sweet shot in sweet light. It doesn't look nearly as cold as it really was! Always a pleasure. :)

Yeah, I think we were in a pretty neat spot. I would love to head back up sometime but am not sure I can fit it into the schedule for a while.

Great light, nice catch of what makes them "purple" sandpipers, that sheen on the back.

Lovely shot.

First PS that I see without the sad looking bill. Great.

Very nice shot. I agree with Alan's crop suggestion.

I like this showing a behavior we don't often see here. Doesn't look that cold.

This is beautiful. The water is so clean and smooth. It's great to see the wonderful color and detail on his back as well. Nice job. I guess now freezing while there was worth it.
