Merry Christmas! This Burrowing Owl had not yet mastered the art of camouflage. Cape Coral, FL, Canon F1N, 800mm f5.6L, 50mm extension, 1/250, f5.6 (ambient), Velvia at 80 and pushed one stop.

Cute. The colors on the hydrant are nice as is the light and BG. I like how small he looks compared to the "perch"

But it is a good vantage point compared with the hole in the ground he is usually viewing the world from when perched. I love the colors here and the composition. Excellent work. :D

I love it. Perhaps this guy needs to spend a little quality time with Alan to pick out a better perch.

Cliff:

Very unique photo. The red is so saturated that looks the hydrant was just painted. The sweet light also is very complimentary. Congratulations.

Sweet shot!! Great background. He's not doing a very good job of hiding in plain sight.

Probably better suited to EHK but a cute image nevertheless.

Cliff,

Funny!

Perhaps this species in general is a little slow at learning about camouflage:
