Taken just after sunrise. I like the simplicity but I'm not sure about the composition. Comments and suggestions appreciated.

Thanks for looking!

This is lovely. The water looks like quicksilver, and the compostion is right on the money!

I really like this.

Tom:

I really like the bird and the rock, but for me, OOF elements in a silhouette don't work very well. To my eye, they detract from the stark, graphic quality of the focal point, especially when they overlap it as they do here. Just an opinion. I'm sure others will disagree.

I love the graphic quality of this. There are two things that would really make this perfect, IMHO. One is the aforementioned out of focus foreground elements and two is that I would like to see some separation between the reflected bird and the reed. This is still excellent as is. :)

Tom, I'm with A.J. on this. The near foilage is too overwhelming for such a great silhouette of the bird and rock.

I also agree with the others on this one. I think you've got the right idea....just needs a little tweaking in the future.

I would have tried to go a little closer and eliminate all the leaves in the FG, in order to have a simpler comp with just the bird and the rock. I like the fact that it almost appears as black and white.

Thanks folks for the honest critiques. They are much appreciated. Here is a repost of the same image with the offending vegetation removed.
