After sunset at the crane pools can be a little hit and miss. There was no color at first, but a few clouds low on the horizon,
then the sun went below the clouds and gives you nice glow if you're lucky for a few minutes.
12-3-03, cropped about 30% to pano.
N90s, Tamron 200-400mm at 400mm f/5.6, handheld, Velvia 100F at 200 ISO.

After all the bad stuff I've heard about pushing Velvia 100, this looks nice! It would be better to have them close but slightly separated.

Mike,

Lovely capture. Just wish there was some separation between their wings.

I'm with the others on wishing for more separation but that usually happens once they are below the mountains/skyline.

This is another very nice silhouette, Mike!!

Mike,

Very nice shot. More separation might be nice, but I would take this color with these clouds any day. Love the mountain at the bottom of the frame.

Lovely, Mike. It would be even better if the birds were separated.

More separation might be nice, but the way it is, they almost look like they are holding hands.

Great colors. I, too, would like to see some separation, although the "holding hands" idea is kind of interesting.

Separation would be the icing on the cake but this is very nice as is Mike.

The pano crop works well here. 8)

I know you've already heard about the separation but the colors and mountain tops are excellent. I never got the right evening for such spectacular colors....you did well.

Excellent...especially the way both birds wings are at the same position.

Very nice colors. I definitely would prefer it without the merge of the two birds but that's my personal taste.
