Short-eared Owl in flight

No penguins here so I figured I'd post a bird that is a target for me again this winter. Last winter we had lots of snow and the shortears had to spend more time hunting. This provided us with a few oportunities to observe and photograph them during the daylight for a few days. I stood in the same place from 8:00AM till 4:00PM hoping one would venture down the dunes close enough to my spot. Most times I would see them working the dune but turn back before they got into range. I had a couple of chances with my best chance at abut 9:30.
