Eurasian Wigeon

This is the first one of these ducks I have seen! He is hanging out with the crowds at the animal park. I hope he sticks around a while longer.
I know I clipped it's tail feathers again, I think that is becoming my "Artist's Signature"

We got plenty of this wintering here in Hong Kong now.
Love the colors and the water reflection, Jason!
Too bad the tail was clipped ...

Jason:

The subject is nice and the background is terrific but combined the two here compete with each other.

I'm not a photogrpaher I just lurk here to look at the amazing pictures you guys capture and to use some of them as reference as I carve duck decoys. I think you may have found a hybrid between a Eurasian and an American wigeon as the Eurasian has grey feathers on the sides and back. Great photo though. I may try to carve an American wigeon in the same pose.

I agree with Juan that the bird looks great and the water is very cool but the too don't mix very well!

Great feather detail on this guy Jason. Too bad about the tail, but there is always the next time.

Hey woodie I'd like to see some pics of your duck carvings(hope you don't actually use them for hunting). I think Juan has a point---only I sure wish you could make the two work together. It would be not worth trying for, so I won't comment with my opinions on how, if you don't have some tail feathers. Anybody owe you?

Lovely! I wonder if a little less saturation would help the image out....

Nice catch of this bird, it does look like the hybrid I told you about. We need to get out shooting soon.
