I shot this shot at Buenos Aires NWR in Arizona 1 day later than Royce on May 5th. Sky was overcast but this helped elliminate the contrasty branches.
I spoke with a local there a month later and all three young had fledged. Most hikers walked right by this nest without knowing a thing.

Canon 1DII, 500F4, 1.4x, 1/60sec, f8, ISO 400.

They do blend in. I think its a little hot overall. Its a great shot--don't have a shot of three of these guys together all looking out--nice work. If you have another shot where the foregound is in focus I would put it in this photo.

Very nice shot Rob! Exposure looks spot on to me - not even close to hot...

Cool shot, Rob. I like the direct eye contact from all 3 of the owlets. In nearly all of my frames, at least one of them is looking away or has closed eyes. The middle one peeking over the shoulder of the first one is particularly cute. :) You got good detail, and the nice tight framing feels more intimate than my version of the shot.

I can see the effect of the overcast day; worth applying a slight warming filter?

Great capture! I often wondered if someone else from NSN had found these cute things, now I know. :)

This is great Rob. Excellent DOF to get them all sharp.

Getting everyone to look the same direction has to be the toughest part of a group shot. Good job Rob.

What a find. Great job with the exposure. I love the middle one peeking over it's sibling.
