This little guy flew into my den the other day, after hysterically fluttering around, (the bird, not me) I was able to gently grasp it and take it outside but it would not leave my hand, so I took a couple of shots before it finally regained its equilibrium and flew away. I suppose this should be listed as a captive shot???

I don't know if this is a proper repost, but here is the bird with a plain background as suggested by Alan. Which is the preferable shot?

:) WOW what a chance. SWEET! Good story. He looks like he wants something from you. I had a hummer in my house all night once. My cat tried to tell me, but I did not understand till the next AM.
Thanks for sharing. San Diego Deb

Nice Warbler portrait. Amazing you had a Wilson's Warbler fly in your house and were able to hand-hold it. Very tough to impossible to get Warbler portraits. The left side of the head and bill look a tad soft.

Nice colors, although I would prefer a less colorful BG.

Incredible story. Lucky to have had this experience. I like the second image better, the eye and bill are sharper.

Pete, a cool story and a really great portrait opportunity for this highly active little warbler. Strangely, while the second image is sharper, I think I prefer the BG from the first post. :) The second one looks even more incongruous to me somehow. Great post!
