Just a standard loon shot. I got this up in the Adirondacks when with Chris Dodds. It was raining and the light was horrible, but I kind of like the look that it gives to this image (though I wish the rain was visible).

Nice shot of the Loon, the exposure is right on, I shoot a lot of Loons and it is at times very difficult to get the red eye unless the sun hits it, for a overcast rainy day, the eye is great!!

A peaceful, serene image, Chris. The coloration of the water sets off the loon very well!

Paul, even from a kayak? If so, I must just be spoiled with the tamer Adirondack loons!

Wonderful shot, Chris. I too like the look the overcast conditions gave to this one.

Too cool Chris. You not only got the difficult red eye, but the iris as well! Great BG as well!

Another killer image, Kayler! Was a fun trip with the exception of breakfast at McDonalds too many times  Funny how I have a sequence of two frames, one with rain drops and the other without - the flash fired at 1/16th power manual on the one with raindrops, but didn't recycle in time for the second without.

Chris -

Nice shot. The light worked in your favor with this subject. The exposure is right on and the detail in darks and lights look excellent.

Sweet shot Chris! Doesn't look standard to me, especially to a guy who's never seen one in breeding plumage.

Easier to expose these guys in overcast, although you don't get the hues out of the dark plumage as well.

The water looks really nice, love the green. If you're into cloning, you might want to take a pass at the fuzz stuck at the top of the bill.
