Thanks for the constructive comments. I haven't posted a lot of images on this forum so I have been playing around with a couple of sharpening protocols to see what works. Here I applied USM globally and then again selectively to the eye and parts of the face. I may have overdone it.

Chris! Thanks for reminding me that shortly after this image, I dropped the 500mm lens on the asphalt and one half rolled away in one direction and the other half in another direction. :( The only positive was that it was easy to pack in my carry-on in two smaller pieces. :lol:
