I can watch pairs of Skimmers zoom up into the sky and put on aerial displays all day. Their ability and agility when air born is simply amazing. Of course, keeping them in the viewfinder is the real challange.

Nikon S2x, 300mm lens, 1/2500 @ f10, ISO 400

Tiger Tail Beach, Marco Island, FL.

For those of you are going to Stone Harbor, this behavior should be observed quite frequently.

Please enjoy and your comments are appreciated.

Hugh

Hugh,

Great job; an excellent image. I will have to plan a trip down that way next year at this time to see the Skimmers.

Amazing Hugh, all I've ever seen these guys do is fly straight or skim!

Wonderful shot, sharp, and wonderfully exposed with interesting positioning of the two birds. Good job.
