As per many of you guys invaluable suggestions, I crop a little bit from top and left of this shot to leave it more room at the right, i.e. the flight direction.

Nice monchromatic image with touches of warm color in the feet, bill and eye to spice it up

Daniel, this is awesome. Did you get any with the wings all the way down?

Excellent shot! I looked all over for one of these in Tokyo but didn't find one!

This shows the aerodynamic profile of a flying bird really nicely. Love the warm monochrome look.

Wonderful shot! Great sharpness. This works because the wing is down slightly so you see the feather detail. If the wing were straight on wouldn't work as well. Well done!

Nicely done, Daniel!
Great eye-level prospective. Just like a dart 'flying' towards its target ...

This is excellent. I would prefer the bird flying toward the camera, but I like the background here. What is the background?

Thanks for all of your comments.
Alan, I did get one with wings down but the image was not as sharp as this one.
Greg and Steve, the grey background was due to the hazed sky. We often face this weather in Hong Kong. :?

Great catch, I like the position of the bird in the frame and the overall gray tones of the image. It would be preferable if the bird was facing us a bit more. Good illumination on the bird, especially for hazy conditions, well done!

A very nice flight shot. He rather reminds me of an arrow flying by.
