It's been a long time since I've had an Avian photo to post.
Got this guy yesterday, from the car. Harsh mid-day light, but passable :)

I don't mind the light so much and I really like your pastel background - it goes with the bird very well.

You did great with the lighting. Very nice quality to it. The BG is great. I especially like the transistion from the blue to white and how the barb wire divides the image in the lighter part of the BG. Great!!! :P
