Ducks, Geese and Swans in flight are difficult to impossible from my floating blind set up. This was from dry land while most of the marsh was still frozen.

I was amazed to be able to read the LEG band # at home on the computer when one of the local trumpeters flew by at close range. Who says AF with the 20D is poor?

Eos 20D, 500mm IS, 1.4x TC
1/1250 sec, f/7.1
Mode: Manual
Metering: Evaluative
ISO: 400
AF mode: AI Servo AF
Drive: Continuous: frame 1
White balance: Auto

Thanks for looking and good shooting!

BZ

Excellent :!:
Problem with 20D is when they come straight at you I understand, but I didnt use it long enough to be sure of that :D

Very graceful birds, I just love shooting them in flight. Very nice flight shot and angle.

The 20D won't have any problem with a bird like this :) Very nice shot.

Love it, Brian! Love the tucked tootsies that seem to just not quite fit this incredible flying machine. :) :!: :!: :!:

Great shot. The size of these birds gave me fits when I spent about a week with them this winter. You've really nailed this one. The 20D must have good AF. Thanks for sharing.
