Monique, I am packed and ready to go, I may not look like much but I am well behaved and can grow on you like a fungus, with no cure for it!!!

Roek?

I'm not sure if this shot works for me. The fact that one sees the bill and paws clearly helps in favour, but in all I'm not so sure. The detail in the clouds is nice. I also like the square crop. The shot suffers from jpg artifacts in the twigs.

Cheers

Monique,

The bill looks too small for a Raven, so I'm going with a Crow. Neat silohette.

The funky artifacts that appear on my monitor are distracting, but it really is beautiful BG light and excellent motif entry. I think it's a raven ( because I just shot a crow last week and his profile looks different). :)

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of someone gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
" 'Tis some visitor," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber door;
Only this, and nothing more."
Is that you Monique or that damned raven at my door?
' Tis not the raven, but my long lost friend the Crow !!

Very nice !!! 8)

Looks like something out of an Edgar Allan Poe story - I like it.

Monique,

The sharpening halo detracts from this one.

It certainly does have an eerie feel to it and is different.

Monique, I believe this may be a Rook, Corvus frugilegus, which has a longer, thinner, straighter bill than the Carrion Crow. I think I can also detect a hint of the pale patch at the base of the bill, which would confirm this as a Rook. Whatever it is, it`s an interesting photo; well composed with a somewhat eerie feel. I like it! :)
