A nice first post with good exposure control, JT!
Would be even better if you were shooting lower though.

Welcome to NSN and look forward to seeing more of your work here ...

NB I deleted your duplicated post just now.

Nice image JT. Welcome. I fixed your post so it would display as alibenn suggested. The raised and muddy foot is nice as well as the exposure, not easy with this light bird against a dark bg. I would suggest a lower angle if possible and cropping some off the top.

Nice first post! :) A tough exposure handled pretty well. Nice catch of the stepping motion. If possible a lower angle might be nice, not that I'd want to get into mud like that! I did once and had to lay on plywood with my gear to keep from sinking.

Agree that a lower angle would be better but still a nice image JT! Welcome to NSN!

JT, I'm glad to see you finally got an image to post. This is a very nice image. Not an easy bird to get close to. Shorebirds always look better if you can get down to their level. Good job with the bright sun.

Welcome to NSN.

Good post of a bird I've only seen once. Try to get a bit lower next time JT, it helps to avoid the mud a bit.

Good photo, JT! As already mentioned lower shooting angle would make this photo even better. Well done!
