Image shot last Sunday at Venice Rookery. This single chick was alone on the nest at sunrise and I couldn't resist capturing this expression. I decided to keep this image as shot, without cropping, to maintain the feeling of "loneliness".

Comments welcome.
Rich.

When I click on image post the background looks weird, like "camoflage" and I don't know why, as I've never seen this before?

Wonderful capture Rich!
BG is awesome and the expression so nice. It certainly communicates the loneliness feeling.

Hi Rich,

A fantastic image that does indeed convey a sense of loneliness. I am not seeing anything weird about the BG. I think it looks great!

Great shot and superior background. I've never been to the rookery but I've seen plenty of images and this one with this background stands out very well.

:( . The mood of this image is very clear. Great shot. Is he wet or just having a bad hair day?

Excellent image of this contemplator. I see a slight blue cast to this. The bg looks great.

Neat image. Lovely BG and nest; certainly a pensive chick.
