This was from my fall trip to New England, October 2004, shot in Maine on the U.S. side of the bridge to Campebello Island, New Brunswick, Canada. I think that this is a Herring Gull. Sorry for not contributing to the forum for a while, I have been on the road quite a lot in my 5th wheel. Internet access is tough on the road.

Cool shot! I like the composition. You may want to consider cloning out the white area in the BG.

David:

Nice action capture with a lot of dynamism, I would clone out the white area as Jim said but also I would saturate the yellows of the beak and the eye.

Great closeup of this gull. Sure looks like a Herring to me. The lighter OOF bg merger behind its head is a small nit.

I wouldn't clone a thing, but again, I almost never clone anything...
