Female King Eider

It was nice meeting everyone at Barnegat this weekend! This king eider was in a group of 4 females that would come up to the very end of the jetty.

20D, 300 f4 + 1.4, ISO 400, 1/640th @ f5.6. 550 EX.

Nice shot Chris. you're s lucky getting to shoot Eiders this close. Up here we need scopes just to see them way out in the lake.

This was actually Sunday... it turned out to be overcast again the whole day in case you haven't heard.. but was still fun. Check out my Wildlife shot too, from the end of the jetty! :wink:

You are very lucky. King Eiders usually stay far away. This is an excellent shot with good detail. I know a lower angle wasn't possble.

Gorgeous shot and nice detail in that plumage Chris. I think the fill flash really helped out here to keep the water from getting too washed out on you. Keep 'em coming :wink:
