I've been viewing this forum for quite some time. After being away from 35mm for 5 years I recently tested the waters with a digital rebel. Loved the results so I sold all my medium format and bought a good birding lens. Last week I took the plunge for a new 1DsII. This was from my first field test of the combo. Looking for Mallards at a local lake I scared off this King Fisher. After setting up in the bushes I covered myself with a Rob Planke pocket blind and waited until he returned 20 minutes later. I took many shots of him attempt to catch lunch.

I was in Florida this week for business and made a day trip to Vierra Wetlands and Merritt Isle. I will post more when I process those. It was a treat to see Jim Neiger handholding his 500 and Artie Morris taking a stroll with his "toy" lens.

I was getting one of those little squares. I right clicked on it and selected "view image" and got it. Never saw this happen.

Nice shot by the way.

Thanks Jim, that worked.

Nice image and excellent first post. I might try reducing the steel eye.
