I have been on the road since before Memorial Day to Florida and Michigan....and am now headed out for the second day of my son's golf tournament (complete with 3 hour delays for rain and lightning) so I'll have to catch up on posting comments tonight.

The STL loon workshop was one of my favorites. It's an incredible experience to be so close to the loons and their chicks with unlimited opportunites of behavior, light, and water. I probably spent too much time watching instead of shooting. The exposure and post processing can be challenging.....as getting all involved facing the right way. For all the chances that I had, this is my only really good feeding behavior.

You've been missed, Lana! Welcome back!

This is a wonderful family portrait shot with all the interactions behind it. Love the great exposure and the semi pano crop too ...

Always good to see your shots Lana and this is a lovely family scene and great capture of this feeding action. The diagonal of the three subjects works really well here! I wish we had these Loons over here. 8) 8) 8) :)

Lana,
Nice to see your name on the NSN postings again.
You may have had a limited number of feeding shots but you sure nailed this one. And it certainly fits the motif.

Lana,

At first glance I thought that this composition couldn't work. What with half an adult Loon turned away frm the camera and an OOF chick. But, in fact it all works very well with the pano type crop. I like it a lot.

Lana,

You might have only one, but it is an excellent one. Great job with the exposure to capture some of the colors in the adults head. Well done.
