Just got back from 4 days of shooting in the Florida Keys. I was gonna post a female red winged blackbird, but since there's so many right now, I decided on posting this Brown Pelican. Taken at the Wild Bird Sanctuary in Key Largo, Florida.

Canon Elan 7e w/Canon 400mm 5.6L w/25mm Canon Ext. tube.

F/5.6 in Av mode; Canon 550EX set to 50mm and FEC -1; Kodak E-200. Sharpened and curve adjustment in Photoshop CS.

Looks like he was working with you, that always helps. I like the background here.

A little hot on top and a tad tight at the bottom. The background is fine but not as OOF as I like for these kinds of shots to work really well. Getting lower would have thrown it more oof (unless there was something else there).

Agree with Greg's suggestion. Might want to increase the feather detail on the body and up the contrast a tad. Good image Pete!!!! Congratulations
