Captured these Wood Ducks the other afternoon in a light rain. These along with two other Wood Ducks were feeding along a road just outside of the town were I live. Hope you like it. I only wished I had more light so that it wasn’t so flat.

jack, this is nice with both sexes. A little more flash would have given it some more pop. Nice shot.

Jack: Nice difference between the sexes. You may want to burn a little the high key background.

Nicely done! I have been trying to photograph a pair of wood ducks for quite a while now with no success. Beautiful details and colors on both birds. I am glad that your photo shows the beauty of the hen's wings. Most of the time, one doesn't get the lovely colors as you have here.

Nice shot! I love woodies and hope to get some shots this weekend.

One question though. I shoot Nikon (D100) and the top flash sync speed is 1/180 sec., which is frustrating. How do you get your Canon to allow flash syncs at 1/640th sec? What is the top flash sync speed? That alone may be enough to make me switch to Canon!

Thanks!!
