A peaceful solo paddle with a Common loon on a favorite Adirondack lake
Canon 10D, Canon 100-400 IS, handheld in canoe. About 20% cropped off.

I think the power of small-in-the-frame shots is too often underestimated. This is a lovely shot, showing some habitat without being at all cluttered.

Very nice, a well portrayed image. :)

For most folks this is the way we see loons, at a distance from the shore. The misty feel also adds to the early morning feel.
