This is titled "Number 5" because "Number 4" is over in "Elements of Humankind". That image is of a hot air balloon that passed behind the baby wildebeest in the tree while the leopard was on the ground.

In this image, "Number 5", the leopard was struggling to unsnag his lunch from the stub of a branch sticking out. He is trying to move it to a different pantry. This tree was much more open-branched than a leopard would prefer to hide his food in. But...that's why the photo op was so darn good!

For the month of May I will post one picture each day of my 2002 Kenyan trip. Jack Sullivan and I are going back this September.

This is the third image in a leopard series. The story was published this month by NSN here:

Len, you could do a book just on this series alone.

Incredible imagery my friend!

BTW- is Jack behaving himself

Best,

Great shot.

I'll check out the other 4. The light is just amazing which really helps with these nice colours.

Cheers

Len, please keep the posts coming! I am really enjoying this series. Perhaps this is better material for the Photo Essays forum?

Love the tighter crop on this shot - it really puts you there! Great job!

another amazing shot I love the golden light and the dark red of the kill against each other.

I find it very interesting how the cats can balance themselves so well.

Amazing and informative. I also think a certain crop of the back could produce an interesting abstract that shows off the detail of the coat.
