Yes, that's Greg on one of his crazy missions to capture a bird image during our June trip to Churchill. :D

After almost toppling over into the water while wading with all my gear, I decided to sit this one out and took the photo from the relative safety of land.

Digital capture with Canon 1D, Canon 28-105 handheld.

Ah yes "the first step lake" I remember it well..... my first step into the lake resulted in a full boot:?

A mission it was and I believe the results were worth the wade. Wading has now become my favourite way to approach birds. :wink:

I'm generally a fan of negative space as many know but I think here you have too much space and too little subject to really tell a story. IMVHO here's all you really need for this image.
