Motif: Barred Owl's dainty feet

For their size, these birds have pretty small feet. But I guess size doesn't matter. They are deadly hunters with the feet they have.

Canon 1D, 100-400 zoom, 1/500 @ f/8 ISO 400. Manual camera settings, manual flash (550 EX) at 1/8 power. Manual preset focus.

I cropped this out of an image with clipped wingtips.

I must say that dainty they are not, I had the privileged of seeing them at close range, perched and with prey in tow, their grasp is close to 4-5 inches when fully expanded, extremely powerful legs & forearms as well!!,
