In Texas We Just Call Cardinals.. "Red Birds"... And They Do Seem To Be Redder Down Here... Must Be The "Heat"... hee,hee

Went Out Sunday, After Several Days Of No Photos... Since Before Christmas... Withdrawl Was Beginning To Set In... And Of Course.. Fog!!!
Decided To Try And Wait Out The Sun.... After Two (2) Hours Of Daylight... It Finally Started To Break.... No "Muy Grandes" So I Turned My Attention To The South Texas Brush....

John, the grey against this red bird is awesome. Love the pose on the bird and always love it when a Cardinal has his crest up.

Very nice shot. I like how the grays create a melancholy mood.

Very beautiful. I do agree that Texas Cardinals tend to be the reddest while Midwestern have a bit of gray and the ones here in AZ tend toward orange.

Excellent! The grey BG really makes him stand out. In a perfect world there would be no shadow from the twig on his head, but I'm being really picky here... :D

cheers, Oliver

For a change the grey BG really helps an image. This is really a pretty shot of a cardinal.

That is one red cardinal -- with all those branches you did well to get a clear shot.

Hi John. I really like the feel of the environment here. While I would normally prefer a cleaner background I really enjoy the open view of the bird here.
