It's still pretty slow around here. I decided to go out Saturday to a local lake and work with the mallards and Canon 10D. There was only a small area that wasn't frozen so there were 100+ mallards. People often come to feed the ducks so they ventured from the water and ice to come ashore. The hard part was actually getting one that was isolated. I found this lovely lady taking a break in the snow. I shot this out the window of my SUV as it was 10 degrees and windy.....and I really hate the cold.
I'm just now starting to see what the 10D can do and I must say, it is certainly different than the 1D. It doesn't seem to take much to blow out images in good light.....and underexpose/oversaturate in late evening light. I like the images I get but certainly have a lot to figure out with it. Canon 10D, 500mmL IS, 1.4XTC, shot from window ISO 400, f/11, 1/250, EV -1 Photoshop - cropped, USM, levels Lana Hays
