Hey - I recognize many of you - how nice of NSN to offer yet another outlet to announce the opportunity of photographing our wonderful winged subjects at Wakodahatchee Wetlands.

Right now we are experiencing absolute bedlum with birds. There are landbirds, shorebirds, wading birds, raptors, waterbirds, mammals, reptiles and all the stunning backlit birds that you can imagine.

I live not five minutes from WAK, so if any of you would like an update, please don't hesitate to call!

Come on down, we're having a stellar year - one for the record books!

Hi Gloria,

Welcome to NSN! Better late than never. ;)

Thanks so much for the update at Wak! Sounds like you have a lot of opportunities down there this year. Wish I could make it but I am all over the country these days!

Hope to see some of your images in the forums!

Happy New Year to you!

Holy Smokes you'all make a girl blush. Geez.....

I've been writing - big time. Busy with my new book - I somehow convinced Guy Tal to work with me on a book about photographic composition - just really busy...

But I've been checking out NSN and miss some of my old friends. My heart soared when I saw some of the "welcome" messages. Thanks so much :)

I'm so happy to see you guys here - I'm just wigglin' in my seat :D

HOW FUN!!!!!!!!!!!

HI GLORIA! Welcome to NSN. :D :D

I was beginning to think that you didn't like us anymore. Glad to hear that it was because you've been so busy. Sure look forward to seeing more of your wonderful images again. I hope to get to WAK myself someday.

Hi Alan! Geez - I love you guys!! I just took a break, that's all. I'm in the field again, twice a day and loving every minute of it. I will be posting some new images very soon! As soon as I get them developed, that is ...

Hey, by the way, Congrats on your winner in Nature's Best this year! It's still awesome but I don't think they did it justice as printed. It looked even more awesome when you first posted the image shortly after you took it.

Thank you! That was a life-long goal and I am blessed to have achieved it in so little time. I'm not sure what went on with the printing in the magazine, but I am grateful for the honor. :)

Good to meet you yesterday Gloria!

I have to second Gloria's comments. While visitng family in the area, I made daily visits to Wako and it was fabulous.
I spend some time visitng the GBH nest observing 3 GBH's. Two were paired off and were starting a family and the third a male was in search of a mate.
Also we had fly overs by a Wood Stork and a Northern Harrier was making the rounds.
The highligh though was a Spot Breasted Oriole who I just missed getting full frame.

Another nice thing about Wako is running into fellow photographers who I meet during my previous visits almost a year ago and having then remembering my name.

Gloria,
Two years ago people at Wakodahatchee talked about a two fold expansion of their wetlands. It was also on their web site. Now it is gone from the web site and I hear nothing about it. Do you know what happened to that plan and if the project will ever happen? I live in California, and would love to return to Wakodahatchee, but have been waiting for the expansion to triple the joy of the experience.

Hi Gerald! "Green Cay Wetlands," is located across the street from Wakodahatchee, but right now it is tied up in political red tape. It's supposed to be three times the size of WAK or something like that. Anyway, it will be at least another year before any more work is done.

Hi Alan :) That was very sweet of you to say. I'll have to sit down later and read through some of the wonderful threads (and look at bird photos!!).
