We were driving towards the western Serengeti this past June, and we stumbled upon the migration that should have been much farther away, as in almost in Kenya, so we were surprised to see so many of these guys at this place.

The wildebeest population is about 1.3million, and about 250,000 zebras, and it is an amazing site to see!

Well, I am off to Tanzania on Thursday. Have a wonderful and safe new year's eve!!!!

Hey Andy,

Something I have to witness one day. Nice portrayal of the madness. Have a good and safe trip, and Happy New Year to you too!

Cheers

Hope you have a great trip! Wish I was joining you! Nice tight shot of the apparent randomness of the migration.

Andy thanks for posting your work here during the 2003 opening of NSN. Group shots are really tough pull off. I really enjoy the skyline right at the top and the one animal looking back with the patch of clearer green area in this area really provides a place for my eye to focus in on one subject while also appreciating the action here. Probably impossible, but a clear strip of green running the bottom of the frame with the leg and foot included of the lower animal(s) are on my wish list. Pano crop works well, sharp and properly exposed. Best wishes for 2004 and have a great trip.

Super cool shot - one of these years I will accompany you to Africa :) I do agree with Dennis if its possible to get the legs completely in by having a small strip of land below the legs of the foremost animals.
