While attending Chas's workshop, he encouraged us to think out of the Bosque (Box) I thought this might be an appropriate image. I did adjust the background color a bit from the raw image.

Rob, I like the silhouttes of these birds. not so sure about the color you picked for the BG. The left bird has the silhoutte of something (wing) extending out from the neck which distracts a little. It's a nice clean image and it is out of the box.

Nice one, I like it - certainly out of the Bosque.

Well, I have to say I am very, very partial to the BG color---have always liked the magenta in this range. The birds are unusual in their posture; the one on the left has a bow-tie and the one on the right has an electrified tail. 8)

Solid shot. Excellent even, especially if full frame. Apart from the color, though, not especially out of the box at Bosque, IMHO. Is the electrified tail as recorded, or the result of a selection?

"Bosque," from everything I've read, means "woods."

Excellent, Rob. I wouldn't mind more room in front.

I don't get it, why is everyone in Chas's workshops trying to get "Out of Bosque"!!!???

The shot is excellent - love the colors.

Cliff, the "electrified tail" is the way the pic was taken. I only tweaked the color.

Feathers can look odd at times, I know. No disrespect intended in the question, though I wish the right bird's tail looked like the one on the left.

Picking up on Matthew's comment, I think the wingless look really makes this. Silhouetted parachuting cranes aren't out of the box, but this image has a primitive, almost cave-painting look that's different, because of the wings. For a print, I might eliminate the one wingtip that sticks out at the neck.
